Tarapith earned its name from famous Tara cult dedicated to Goddess Tara. Even today, Tara ashram, which is standing tall among several ruins, is the main attraction for the visitors. This town has also won popularity for Tantric art practice and most difficult yoga postures. All these features make Tarapith an ideal gateway for those in search of spirituality and divine tranquility.

Low-Cost Tarapith Hotels

Tarapith hotels are broadly categorized as five-star and budget hotels, with the later being more in number. Budget hotels – the name says it all. They are meant for low to middle class people. These hotels come cheap on your accommodation budget. Expecting high quality food, heavenly comfort and modern facilities in these hotels are just like daydreaming. If you want to avail these, you need to stay in a five-star hotel in Tarapith.

However, these inexpensive hotels make up for their lack of facilities by offering you lukewarm hospitality that cannot help but rustle the strings of your heart.

Five-Star Accommodations

They are a real beauty to look at. Gorgeous interiors are equally splendid in rhyme with inviting exteriors. Most of the luxury hotels are in close proximity with Tara temple. A few of them are, however, a little away and sits in serenity. The highlight of any five-star Tarapith hotel is the kind of service that guests are provided with. The word ‘opulence’ is taken much forward by these hotels. Wherever you look, luxury is never to miss.

Apart from signature furniture and fittings, five-star hotels treat the vacationers to a variety of most authentic Bengali cuisines. These hotels are expectedly beyond the reach of economic class and meant to serve only the affluent tourists.

Hotel in Puri – Where I Saw the First Magic in My Life

I went to Puri nearly two decades ago. I was only 6-7 years old then. However, everything is still vivid in my memory. It was a blushing dawn when our train touched at Puri station, from where we took a rickshaw to reach our hotel in Puri. I remembered my father telling me, my mom and little sister that it was going to be our temporary home for the next few days.

The hotel was a big one and right in front of sea. That was the biggest attraction for me. I used to spend most of my time at balcony where there was a nicely looking recliner in red color. I used to stretch myself on that and be all eyes on the raging waves. Our room was a big one with an attached bathroom. There was a big color TV on the desk and my sister often glued to cartoons on it.

It was a king size bed that we were offered and the wardrobe was pretty spacious. On the other end of the room, there was a small dressing table.

Sunrise & Swimming in Sea

I have always been a late riser since my childhood days. The next day after our arrival in Puri, I heard my mother yelling ‘Hi, you get up, let’s watch the sunrise”. I was still in middle of my dream, playing with the sea creatures and felt very annoyed at her constant pushing to awaken me. I got up, dragging my feet over the bed and then along the ground. I was still rubbing my eyes and babbled out just like a drunkard and in a little loud voice, “What’s new about seeing a sunrise?”
And then we all came out in the balcony and stood spellbound. It was not an age for me to bask in nature’s romanticism or be in praise of plentiful of blessings around us but still I could not help but feel mesmerized to see the magic that was slowly unfolding before my eyes. Blue sky was streaked with red and golden patches and it looked like a painting just like what my mother used to create with her favorite water colors.

I looked up, down, left and right and every boarder in that hotel in Puri was enjoying the scenario, with most of them readying their camera to capture the moment for ever. Finally the red ball came out and under the newborn sun, sea wore a reddish look. Still today, I find no words to describe those moments and what I felt at that time. We came to our room and I caught some sleep once again.

I woke up by 9am and breakfast was ready. There were buttered toasts, boiled egg, sweets and a cup of lukewarm milk (tea was for the adults). By 10am, we reached by seashore. My mom was standing with my sister at a distance and I went with my father to take bath. It was no nice to bob up and down with the surging waves. We saw everyone from our hotel was streaking in one by one. We enjoyed swimming for around two hours before coming back to hotel and finishing plateful of rice in just a few minutes, much to delight of my mother.
